We returned to Paris Disney today, this time without Judy.  Unlike the first time, the sky was blue and sunny and the weather was warm.  The crowds were a little bigger, but still not too bad.  We focused more on the rides that the girls wanted to see this time, which meant mostly skipping Fanstasyland but hitting Thunder Mountain several times, Pirates, and Autopia a couple of times.  We had lunch at the Fantasyland hamburger place, but the food was not good.

After lunch, we crossed to the MGM Studios park.  It was much smaller than Disneyland and had only a few rides.  One was a backlot “tour” that was sort of interesting.  We boarded an actual tram and were taken on a sort of guided tour past a few movie props and so forth, and then we parked on a “set” that sort of depicted a mountain landscape with a large truck on it.  After a bit, the ground started moving to simulate an earthquake, and then enormous volumes of water washed all over the set and all over the tram cars (which were covered).  A bit farther on, there was also a set depicting London after an attack.

The main attraction, though, was Crush’s Coaster.  We stood in line for an hour to ride, and we could see a small section of the coaster that seemed to show a kids ride where you sat on a “turtle” that rotated and rode up and down a kind of wavy track.  A bit to my surprise, Kaitlin rode with us.

The actual ride turned out to be very different.  It was a coaster in the dark, and started with a long steep climb up a hill and then numerous drops and swoops.  In addition, the “turtle” car rotated freely during the ride.  All in all, it was pretty intense, and I worried a bit over how the girls would handle it.  But when it ended, they both seemed to have enjoyed it and wanted to ride it again.  We didn’t, though, because the lines were too long.

Instead, we crossed back to Disney for the rest of the evening, finishing with Thunder Mountain and then Autopia, just making the last minutes before it closed.

We then took the train back home, again carrying the girls back to the room for the night.
