We were up very early, had breakfast, and then were driven to the train station, where we took the train back to Dublin. From there we caught a cab to the ferry port. The cab driver was carrying on a conversation with another driver in the next car for several blocks. Once at the ferryport, we had to wait around for a couple of hours for the ferry. Amber and Kaitlin helped me with organizing the photos while we waited.
The ferry trip was pretty uneventful. The wind was strong again, but clear skies this time. We went on deck for a bit for some pictures, and I walked Kaitlin around the boat for a while. I noticed a guy, an American that I had seen on the trip into Ireland. Sort of annoying, for some reason.
Once in Holyhead, we caught the train back to London. We met a very pleasant woman from London on the train. She was a hat maker and also worked for some sort of charity. At any rate, she was very friendly and talkative. I ended up purchasing some food on the train for the girls and I got the London woman a diet coke. When we arrived at the station, she reciprocated by showing us where to catch a train straight to Paddington station where our hotel was. (We stayed at the same London hotel as before because we were arriving extremely late and we already knew how to find this place.). Despite her good intentions, it turned out to be a major hassle taking the bus because you had to have exact change and we had no pounds. Luckily, though, the driver took mercy on us and let us ride for free. It was a double-decker red bus, and I went up with the girls to ride a stretch upstairs. We found the hotel easily from the bus stop and checked in at around 11:30. I then called to arrange tickets for the Chunnel train to the continent. I had been worried about this for the entire day because of the cost of buying at the last minute, but we were able to get something affordable by going to Brussels rather than Paris.
