We awoke early to catch the only bus to the train station. There, we paused first at the McDonalds to access the internet to check hotel info, and then boarded the train for the short trip to Figueres, Spain. The station was located on the outskirts of town, but was quite close to our hotel, Hotel Trave, and a short walk got us there.
The hotel had a pool and the girls and I swam there for the early afternoon while Phyllis sunbathed. I then walked to a grocery store nearby to buy snacks, and we then walked to the town center to look around. There wasn’t much to see, though, and most of the stores were closed. We ultimately stopped to eat at an outdoor cafe in a square. We then returned to the room, where I sat outside on the balcony overlooking the pool and had a beer and read for a while.
